Camping with the Pucketts

We went on another camping trip this weekend.  This time with our friends, the Pucketts.  We went to Silverton and Animas Forks.  The trip started off a bit sketchy, but turned out awesome!  As soon as we set up camp, a pretty decent hailstorm hit.  It was very cold the rest of the night, but it was beautiful the next day.

After the hailstorm, Jake cooked our dinner of couscous and chili.
He also made breakfast the next day!

Nate insisted he keep walking down the road.  This is the road we took to get to our campsite.  It was a 4WD road, but our Avalon made it.  The scary part was passing the park ranger coming the other way on a tight curve:)

As you can see, the weather was beautiful the next day.  We had fun exploring around our area

On Saturday we went to an old, abandoned town, Animas Forks.  It was cool to see all the old buildings.  It boomed from about 1880 until 1920

We passed through Ouray on our way to Silverton.  We want to go back and explore Ouray some more, its such a cute town.

This is Red Mountain Pass.  Crossing it in the rain made me a bit nervous, because some people aren't willing to cross it ever!

Silverton is another cute Colorado town!
