The Michaud Show

We were soooo excited to have Jessica, Patrick and Alexandra visit us last week.  They are such good friends and it is so hard living so far away (Franklin, TN is pretty far from Grand Junction).  We borrowed a car, some car seats and had all sorts of fun (minus the ear infection and trip to the doctor for Alex:(

On Monday we headed up to the Mesa to see the beautiful fall colors.  Sunday was officially color Sunday, but guess what, its still pretty good on Monday!

Riding in style

The color change is really something else up there! I love the Mesa this time of year (so Brantley I guess this season would be a great one to come for a visit, since you couldn't decide:)

Getting four kids to look at the camera at the same time is pretty much impossible in case you were wondering.  Out of over 100 pictures, we never really found 1 where they were all looking or smiling at the same time. (Nor did we get one of Justin as Matt pointed out...oops) Oh well.

Jessica, Alex and Patrick (he was still a bit cold at this point:)

Nate insisted on holding the apples

Having fun can be so tiring. The last time these two had met Alex was about 3 weeks old and Nate about 9 weeks old.

We had some fun play times at the mall, Rocket Park and downtown

The mall playground and food court were a good distraction on a rainy day!

Yes! Two looking at us at the same time, not exactly smiling but how much can you expect?

On Thursday it was finally sunny again and we were able to go for a hike on the Colorado National Monument.  We started at the top of Serpents trail (pic below) and went down maybe a bit over a 1/4 of a mile then turned back around.  The kids had a lot of fun playing with rocks along the way.  We also got a lot of praises for making it up the whole trail without the kids, but we felt guilty and let them know that we actually started at the top and just went down a little ways.  Once again, impossible to get an actual picture with all four of them:)

Jessica and kids on Serpent's Trail with the Bookcliffs in the background.  Beautiful!

We ate a snack/lunch at Cold Shivers Point. Alina knew Jessica was trying to take a picture:)

Thank you Jessica for braving the flights, colds, ear infections and delays to come see us.  We promise to return the favor as soon as we can.  We love y'all and are so grateful for our friendship:)
