Kitchen/Dining Floor...Take 2

 Or maybe take 3 depending on how you look at it.  This is the 2nd change to the floors, but the 3rd flooring we've had in this area.  Here is a picture again of how it looked once we moved in. There was carpet in the dining area, not a good idea, ever.  Also note the hideous light, ugly curtains and you can sort of make out the yucky wallpaper:

 Here is the dining area after the first change.  The wall color, curtains (light not pictured) and chair rail all vastly improved the space.  But the biggest improvement was the floors, sort of.  You may remember the post of how Justin removed carpet, two layers of linoleum and some tar-like substance to reveal the wood floors underneath.  Although they look nice in this picture, they really did not match the rest of the wood floors in the house, which it met up with at the transitions to the hall and living room.  It also was a bit softer and scratched very easily.  Not to mention we still had gross linoleum in the kitchen that hadn't been dealt with.

Here is what our floors look like now, a huge improvement!  We bought the same tile as in the bathroom (cheap stuff at Lowe's) and Justin, with some help, put it in.  We much prefer the area now.  Its easier to clean, it all matches and its nice and cool.  It was a lot of work, but definitely cheaper to do ourselves (or himself I should say:) This is the final stage!
