Back to work...

Well, Monday was my first day back to work. Justin was home and his mom came in that day to help us out this week. This is really helpful for me so I can adjust to getting back into my school routine, and then next week I will work on the taking Alina to Pauline's routine.

Jana is having a fun time with Alina, and Alina is enjoying being spoiled! Monday evening she was a bit more fussy than usual, so she seems to realize I'm gone during the day and misses me, so I held her most of the evening to makeup for it. Today, she seems to be getting a little more used to it. I can't wait for Saturday to be together all day again! At least spring break is only one and a half weeks away:)

Work is going well, I got my room back the way I like it and finally finished grading some tests my longterm sub gave on Friday. The kids seem to have missed me, at least they say so. Today, my sixth period class decided that I am strict, but not mean. They at least can differentiate between the two, many of my students just think I'm down right mean! I just like order, what can I say? One of my kids said, "oh, I forgot, you're OCD." He seemed so relieved to remember that! Seventh-graders:)

Well, after spring break we only have eight weeks of school left, so I am looking forward to summer. Alina and I will have lots of fun hanging out here and in Texas!

Spring Break in Texas

We took a trip to Texas while Justin had spring break and I was still on maternity leave. It was a great time to visit with friends and family and show-off Alina. Many had not met her yet, so this was an exciting time. On Sunday, we went to church and lots of old friends got to see Alina. She went to the nursery for the first time and did very well. The rest of the week was spent having lots of people over to my parents and Justin's parents house. Some of them even wanted to see us and not just the baby:)

On our way we stopped to visit with Chris and Marcie, who now live in Atlanta. It was nice to visit with them!

Welcome to the Lone Star State!!!

Two of Alina's great-grandmothers were able to hold her. Grandma Eva was in from Midland and Granny was able to come over several times to see her while we stayed with Justin's parents.

Fun times with aunts, uncles, and Dobby!

Kinsey loved to help with Alina, here she is reading "Goodnight Moon" to her.

Papa Ovi got to hold Alina for the first time.

On the way home we stayed with Justin's cousin, Bryan, in Atlanta. The trip back was much longer because of the rain and I-20 being shut down in Jackson, Mississippi. We have a fun time, but were glad to be home!

Shots:(

Today, we went in for Alina's two month well-check. We are happy to say that Alina is in great health. She weighs 10 lbs 8oz and is 22 1/4 inches long, which puts her in the 50% for both. She also had to get four vaccines, one by mouth and three shots. This was not pleasant for Alina or me. She seemed to be doing well, until 4pm this afternoon, when she began screaming like I've never seen. We went to check her temperature and saw that her little thighs were terribly swollen and red, so we called the pediatrician and they recommended some Tylenol. Well after about three hours of wailing at the top of her lungs every time she moved her legs, she finally calmed down. It was the saddest thing I've ever seen. I hated watching her in pain and there was nothing I could do about it, and if I moved even a little, she just screamed some more. This mommy thing can sure be hard sometimes, but worth every minute. When the Tylenol kicked in and she started smiling again, we were so excited!
